When you create surfaces in ProgeEARTH, you can calculate volumes between existing and proposed surfaces.

Can you calculate volumes from a certain area within the total surface boundary?

I have tried creating a project from an overall area of data then use a boundary to create a surface from only a selected area. However, there may not be enough data to effectively triangulate within the boundary. This is why I want to create the surface from all the data then calculate volumes within a certain area of this surface.

Any info is much appreciated.

Craig

Unfortunately we currently progeEARTH does not have a way to calculate terrain volumes from part of a surface.

The user will need to create a separate surface for the area that volumes are needed. Then calculate volumes between that surface and the existing surface.

The user may need to add some points or 3d lines to compensate for the lack of information.

No worries, I though that might be the way.
