I am designing in steel and have chosen Soft Steel as the properties. For about half the parts the numbers are correct, for other parts the calculated properties are way off. It seems that the calculated surface area is too low for these parts as a consequence the indicated weight is too low

Should I email a file of a wrong part?

Hi Leon,

This seems to be a known issue:

The suggestion there is...
Be sure to set the mass properties in the element parts themselves and don't try to set them from the assembly.
Remember that the results are in scientific notation so they may not always look like what you are expecting even when the results are correct.
