Create a 3Dpolyline where each vertex has a Z coordinate value (not equal to the current elevation). Select and COPY that 3Dpolyline.
When you PASTE the COPY it appears that the result is a 3Dpolyline where the Z coordinate of the start vertex is reset to the current elevation and then other vertices are placed the same relative elevation as in they were in the were to that start vertex. Clearly copy does not copy as expected.
