Hi there,
What's the easiest way of getting a 2d representation of a 3d drawing that can be added to 2d workshop drawings? It's often an advantage to show a 3d view of a machined or bent sheet metal component for clarification on a workshop drawing.
Regards

Hi raycutting,
So I might be a little confused here, do you want a "2d representation" or a "3d view"? Just guessing by the final sentence you are looking to add an isometric view to a detailing sheet layout depicting a 3d representation. If so then this is very easy in progeCAD.
For detail drawings of 3D mechanical objects, furniture, fixtures etc I highly recommend using sheet layout views.
When you create a new floating viewport (using layout or "paper space"), by default it will "auto-scale" to fit the current model space 3D view. If you are doing 3D design in progeCAD using the real ACIS 3D modeling functions or the surface mesh entities, you can also apply several visualization types of 3D rendering to the viewport itself in layout/paper space, as shown below (note the properties panel, left):
For more information about which visualization modes progeCAD 2009 currently supports in paper space layout, see the prior discussion here. _________________ CAD Software Support
