I have just bought a new Dell Optiplex touch screen and windows 8, I have downloaded and setup Progecad 2013 and registered. The problem is the program hangs before finishing loading, the bar on the loading screen gets to about 75%. Progecad is not responding.

Dear ashboats,

May we ask how long did you wait? The very first time that progeCAD starts up on a newly installed PC, the loading screen will take several seconds longer.

Also be sure that the installation was carried out as full systems admin on target PC, if not you will need to reinstall it correctly as administrator.

If the above hints do not resolve the issue please let us know and we will look at it closer for you.

Thanks for your reply, I have done your suggestions but exactly the same result.
Tried running Troubleshoot computer problems in control panel programs. No resolution ultimateley says the program is incompatable with windows 8 and will not work in xp mode either.

We have just uploaded progeCAD 2013.0.14.11.

You should try this new version, first completely uninstall your existing progeCAD version. Also delete your existing user folder, as this may also have corrupted data causing progeCAD to crash for you (the folder is C:\Users\<USER NAME>\AppData\Roaming\ProgeCAD\progeCAD\R13\Professional - English

Download the new version from http://www.caddit.net/progecad/progecad.php

P.S.> if problem still persists, try running progeCAD as full administrator once -> right click on progeCAD shortcut - Run as Administrator.

Let us know if these steps fix the issue for you. Also, what kind of printers and antivirus do you have installed?

Dear ashboats,

Sorry this is a bit unusual problem for us. Can you also uninstall completely (again) and try this version as well:

http://software.progesoft.com/download/ ... f8ny53ydwm

There is a difference in some of the core software in this beta so it is still in testing. It would be good to know if it works (or not) for your unusual situation.

Thanks.

Dear ashboats,

This is very odd. We will need you to send us a debug log (either via pm or email) Here is how to create the log file:

1. right click the progeCAD launching icon
2. click the Properties option
3. edit its path adding /log after its specific (e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\progeSOFT\progeCAD 2013 Professional ENG\icad.exe" /log).
4. start progeCAD
5. Access the Windows Temp folder and look at the automatically created log format file:
- Open a Windows Explorer folder
- In the address area, write %temp% and press <Enter>
- Look at the .log format file (e.g. activities 12_20_42 06_17_13.log)

Please either attach and email us, or copy-paste contents to a PM if not too large..

Dear ashboats,

looking at the log file that you sent us, the developer verified that most probably the occurring issue (not being able to run the progeCAD software, the process not completing) depends on the Graphics drivers.
We suggest your customer to re-install and update them to the latest version.
