 No matter HOW the new layout is created, text & dimensions & arrows created in paperspace WITHIN the viewport area do not show. This occurs whether the viewport is created while in the 0 layer - or defpoints. Attempting to send the viewport behind the above objects does not help, or vice versa. The problem occurs in creating a new tab/layout either by copying an existing tab/layout or setting up a new tab/layout via pulldown menu selection. No layers are frozen. All layers are turned on.

Is there an obscure setting that is the problem? This has occurred on a 6.1 megbyte drawing after 55 tabs/layouts were achieved. Audit of drawing reveals no errors.

Hi Juanito!

Lets start please first with some basics:

1) What version of progeCAD are you using?
For obvious reasons we need to know which version of our software you are running.

2) Where is the DWG file from? Does it contain overlays, XREFs, IMAGES embedded or other objects? If so, are they OLE embedded or TOOLS embedded?
The answer is probably 'autocad' and 'no' but we just need to make sure this isn't a factor

3) What sort of OS are you running?
If the answer is XP, we will try our best but the much-beloved 32-bit XP era is officially over. We will probably suggest a big fat cross-hardware-software update

4) Are you on Linux Running WINE?
Nothing more needs to be said here.

Hello,

yes, the file was created in Autoad (Map 6). It has no image inserts or x-refs. The 3D model has only linework and a few hatch patterns.

The PC in use: Windows Vista - Home Edition. 2.5 gigahertz, 2.0 gigbytes of Ram and approximately 65 gigbytes of available space.

Thank you for your consideration/advice! J.C.

Hi Juanito,

Right. Got it. So this is an AutoCAD problem, but in this case we would still look at the same common causes as we would in progeCAD, since the two systems are similar.

When you are adding the notations, dimensions etc, which viewport is the "active" viewport?

Having an mview viewport selected as active, (instead of the "master" viewport), will result in the behaviour your describe, because the annotations were actually created in model space and are getting cut off at the borders of the mviews.

Hey there. There are no notations made in model space. Only 3D model objects are in model space. All notations are entered in paper space. The paper layout is letter size and the single viewport covers approximately half of the page. Whatever text that extends inside of the viewport results in said portion of the text being invisible. As well, any linework entered in paper space which extends inside of the viewport is wiped out, invisible.
