Hi,
My coordinate data is comma delimited but I have tried tab delimited also. Taken from a spreadsheet where the XY and Z data was concatenated and saved as a text file.
eg.

999.82,1003.256,101.585
999.591,1002.603,101.58
998.22,1003.08,101.587
995.905,1003.645,101.233
994.884,1000.733,101.253
998.368,999.498,101.459
995.661,1000.452,101.44
997.309,999.875,101.486

Stephen

Yes, I have had a week with this program without success.
I am presently using the free version (2009 Smart) as my trial of 2013 has just run out. I plan to buy 2013 Professional if I can get the points import to work. I have contacted the UK supplier and I am waiting for him to come back to me.
Many thanks,
Stephen

sescott,

We obviously cant give support for someone else's script.

But like was said before, it worked fine for us (on 2013). Did what one would expect: imported your list of points, created those points as nodes in the model space. Took about a minute.

Are you are looking for something very specific result or post-process for some exact purpose or application beyond just importing the data as-is?

No,
I am just looking to import and plot the points so that I can then use line and spline tools to draw archaeological structures. All my work is for a not for profit amateur archaeological society but I would be happy to buy 2013 if I can use it to import points. I am also attracted to some other functions that it offers such as the included CAD blocks for inserting trees etc.

Stephen

Yes you are right. I have now purchased the full version of Progecad 2013 and the points have imported without a problem.
Many thanks,
Stephen

Sorry to dig up this old post; but it's exactly what I'm after 8)
I've downloaded the zip from the link and unpacked them. I've gone to 'tools-load LISP' and navigated to the files, selected the LISP application file and added to the 'file list'. When I load the LISP and type 'importxyz' to run it, I get a message saying that the importxyz.dcl was not found...........I couldn't add the .dcl file as there was no option on the upload for this file type.

Any ideas how I get the .dcl file into the file list?

I'm running progecad 2017 professional and win10

Hello
Dcl-file creates the user interface window. You should put that file into your Program Files/Progecad/Progecad 201X etc-folder.
There are some third-party commercial add-on solutions to import/export coordinate data into Progecad. And a couple of freeware lisp programs. It is also possible to make your own software with VBA or similar. Its not easy but you can find help on internet and discussions. I did my own survey point software because I needed one. It is in Finnish so it maybe will not help you.
