I am used to flying through drawings in R14. Mostly keyboard shortcuts and the right mouse button for enter.

actually everything is slow, entity selection etc.

I find progecad really lagging in speed. Enough so that I have to slow down quite a bit which is annoying.

This is a new laptop, 4gb memory running Windows 7.

Any fixes ??

Thanks

Hello tammons,

What kind of drawing? How big (size in megabytes)? Any nested blocks? Very large embedded images? Paperspace or model space?

Do you have any large applications running in background?

Are you editing a file accross a network or VPN?

Also, certain Windows themes can slow the progeCAD interface http://www.caddit.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=390#390

Pretty much any size.

>Any nested blocks?

No

>Very large embedded images?

No

Paperspace, we need custom colors for paperspace.

>Do you have any large applications running in background?

Tried turning them all off and setting W7 to best performance and that helped.

I do have another computer on a network and tried a drawing on that computer, but also put that same drawing on the local hard drive and it was about the same.

Yes I set it up for performance and that helped a lot.

I guess the problem is I work so fast that progecad will miss some of the keyboard commands within what I am trying to do.

R14 under XP just flies by comparison.
I just need progecad to keep up with my input speed on windows 7.

Also on my machine it installed under the X86 program folder so I assume ti is running in 32 bit mode with 32 bit overhead.

Is the latest version 64 bit or 32 ??

Correct,

progeCAD runs as a native 32 bit application fully x64 tested and compatible using default configurations for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
