Drawing screw threads for bolts and nuts involves a base figure (like a triangle) "extruded" along a spiral path. Using the EXTRUDE command gives odd results since the base figure does not turn with the spiral path.
Autocad has a SWEEP command that does this very neatly. You can sweep any figure along a spiral, arc or pline. Progecad does not support this command. Is there an alternative or other command in Progecad what does the SWEEP command? Maybe a LISP to do the SWEEP and LOFT command?
:) Thanks

Welcome nvisbeen,

We passed this around the developers a bit and such a function will definitely need to be implemented no doubt about it. We are currently switching to a new code base and can consider new commands when that's done. We don't have a lot of requests for this command but maybe if more voice up a strong opinion here it may be added a bit sooner...

When it comes to 3D, progeCAD is weak. The sweep tool can be very handy and would be a welcome addition.

Hi durrroy,

We have already sent the request. progeCAD is primarily a 2D design tool with basic 3D solid and mesh modelling, we understand that a fair number of users have 3D requirements. We have been investing resources in this area.
