Hi,
I could not create any other file types (eg. bmp, wmf...) except dwg & dxf format using file export command, is there any additional setting required to get it to work???

Hi van,

progeCAD file read write import and export functions are found in various places throughout the progeCAD interface. Hopefully there will be a way of collecting these in one place in future versions. Command locations are the same for the all respective read/import commands.

DWG, DXF, DWT:
These file formats can be written from the "File -> Save As" menu.

DWG, DXF, DWF, WMF (Windows Metafile), BMP (Windows Bitmap), Enhanced Windows Metafile (EMF):
These file formats can be written from the "File -> Export" menu. For some of these formats one must scroll down the bottom of the long list of AutoCAD versions supported (2000, 2002, 2004, etc) to see the other ones. These functions work in all latest versions of progeCAD 2008: Professional, Standard IntelliCAD, and progeCAD Smart! If you are sure that formats are missing form your export list, try to reset the menus & toolbars. If they are still missing you need to re-install progeCAD 2008

PDF, JPG:
progeCAD includes two special printers at "File -> Plot" menu as shown in this image:

O2C 3D graphics visualisation and virtual reality format is currently exported using progeCAD's _CONV command. This might change in the future (IMHO very non-specific naming for this command). O2C files are also exported via the O2C toolbar.

progeCAD also will read and write ACIS 3D model files for exchange with solid based CAD CAM, CNC and FEA systems using the "acisin" and "acisout" commands.

progeCAD also imports and exports customization files, but these are not interchangeable with AutoCAD.

In addition to the export options available in progeCAD IntelliCAD there are a host of other options for importing and exporting within progeCAD IntelliCAD.

Available as optional add-ons for the progeCAD product you can download and try out other import export utilities.

We have an STL import and export add-on. .STL is a file type for Stereolithography which is an additive fabrication process utilizing a vat of liquid UV-curable photopolymer "resin" and a UV laser to build parts a layer at a time.

Drawings can be output to STEP files. These files are a quasi standard for transfering files between CAD modeling software.

We have an IGES import utility, another common file type for transfer between proprietary CAD Modeling formats.

If you use other products for high end rendering and realistic animation you can use either the 3D Studio import or the export utility, or the Alias Wavefront import and export.

Other utilities are HPGL Import, CNC Import to bring in CNC machine programming files, and a Points import tool to import ASCII data collector files and populate your drawing with points entities.

We have trial downloads available on our website where you can download and try out these utilities for 10 days or 10 runs for free.

Hi,
Thanks for the promt responds.
The special file formats are not missing under Export menu, except they did not do what I try to do.
What I need is a presentable rendering 3D model in some kind of file format e.g. PDF, JPG, or BMP file. Even under Print menu, there are limited options for printing 3D rendering.
I have tried the O2c file format but they display the objects in angle mesh surfaces in stead of plain surfaces.
Thank you for all the helps anyway, I am giving up

Maybe this is oversimplification, but why don't you just take a screen grab and paste it into something like GIMP (a very good graphics manipulation program free for MS Windows) for cropping the window frame and icons?

Remember the hot key for screen grab of a single window is CTRL-PRTSCN.
